Lake Taupo Marina is situated in the Waikato River upstream of the control gates bridge commonly known to as Lake Taupo Harbour. It is controlled by the Internal Affairs Department and administered by the Lake Taupo Harbourmaster. A waiting list of several years exists for permanent berthing but short term temporary berths are available given prior notice (although peak periods over Christmas and Easter place a heavy demand on availability).
The Department also administers berths for smaller craft at Motuoapa and Tokaanu Marina’s with 144 and 22 berths respectively. There is a waiting list of two years at Motuoapa.
