Located at the northern tip of New Zealand’s South Island, The Marlborough Sounds Marinas offer direct access to some of the world’s best boating - the beautiful clean clear waters of the Marlborough Sounds. 1500 kilometres of coastline. Diverse waterways for exhilarating sailing, fishing, diving and water skiing. A myriad of deep coves and bays fringed by beaches and native bush, a haven of scenic tranquility, sheltered anchorages and solitude from all but the native birds.
A berth in one of our three marinas - at Waikawa, Picton or Havelock - gives you unparalleled access to this unique maritime treasure trove.
Experience the excitement of wind crested waves as you sail the vast channels that lead to open sea. Anchor in a secluded bay to fish, dive or lie back with a book. Picnic on a sandy beach against a backdrop of towering 800 year old Rimu trees, lush ponga tree ferns and beautiful native orchids. Stroll one of the many breathtakingly scenic walks, or, for the more actively inclined, take a day out sea kayaking or wreck diving. When the taste buds tire or galley fare, sample the numerous restaurants, resorts and lodges scattered throughout the Marlborough Sounds. The Marlborough Sounds Marinas comprise in excess of 1250 berths from 8 - 35m+ and we accommodate more than 400 additional vessels in boat sheds and storage compounds.
The region is well-serviced by regular flights from all the major cities, including direct services from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Within 40 minutes of arrival at Marlborough Airport you can be at your boat - whether berthed at Havelock, Picton or Waikawa.

Waikawa Marina
An exceptionally well equipped, modern marina, five minutes drive from the township of Picton, this marina is at the gateway to the beautiful Queen Charlotte Sound. Recognised for its comprehensive range of on-site marine services and facilities Waikawa Marina is one of the largest and most popular marinas in New Zealand. Berth holders enjoy year round opportunities to participate in a busy racing calendar and socialise at the Boat Club on the waterfront.
